Stem: Erect, branching and green in colour, with wings that become extended and leaf-like. Leaves: Deeply lobed in rosette at base. Flowers: Large clusters of purple (sometimes bluish or pinkish) flowers along slightly drooping heads with the occasional white flower interspersed. Fruit and Seeds: Small, dry, papery. Habitat: Woodland, riparian areas, gardens, roadsides, waste areas.
