Family: Asteraceae Scientific name: Conyza canadensis Description: Plant Form Erect annual herb. Size Up to 1.5 m tall. Stem Usually unbranched below flowerheads, densely hairy. Leaves Alternate along stems, undivided, narrow, wider in end half, smooth to finely toothed edges, hairy. Flowers Dome to flask-shaped daisy flowerheads 4 mm wide in often pyramidal clusters. Fruit and Seeds With cream-coloured parachuting hairs about 4 mm long. Habitat Disturbed sites, roadsides, gardens. Distinguishing Features Flowers much smaller than in Flaxleaf fleabane (Conyza bonariensis) and Tall fleabane (C. sumatrensis).
