Family: Solanaceae Scientific name: Solanum seaforthianum Description: Plant Form: Perennial vine. Size: Climbing up to 5 m high. Stem: Green, mostly hairless but with a few sticky hairs on the flowering branches. Leaves: Green, up to 10 cm long, deeply lobed with 3-9 lobes almost to the midrib. Alternate on stem. Flowers: Pale blue or purplish, up to 3 cm across, star-shaped with 5 petals, in large clusters of 10-100 in leaf forks. Fruit and Seeds: Shiny round berries 8-12 mm across which ripen from green to bright red. In drooping clusters. Containing numerous flattened seeds.
