Stem: Erect, with few branches, slightly grooved, covered in crinkly hairs. Leaves: In rosette at base 5-25 cm long, oblong to lance-shaped, narrow at base. Deeply lobed, dandelion-like. Leaves higher up are greatly reduced in size and generally narrow lance-shaped. Flowers: Yellow circular heads with strap-like petals, much like a dandelion but smaller. Fruit and Seeds: Dry, wrinkled, bumpy or notched with 2 rows of parachuting hairs. Habitat: Disturbed areas, roadsides, parks.
