Family: Cyperaceae Scientific name: Cyperus eragrostis Description: Plant Form: Tufted perennial sedge. Size: Up to 90 cm tall. Stem: Narrow, upright. Leaves: Long flat blades with inwards curving edges. Flowers: Very numerous umbrella-shaped clusters of spikelets which are overall oblong and flat in shape. Greenish yellow or pale brown. Fruit and Seeds: Triangular, olive-green or brownish, with a very faint layer of hairs. Habitat: Boggy grasslands, drainage areas, cropping areas, disturbed areas, wetlands, parks, gardens.
