Stem: Sticky and hairy, becoming rough and woody with age. Leaves: Soft, slightly fleshy, oblong to lance shaped and often with serrated edges. Flowers: White, pinkish, or bluish-purple petals 1.5-3 cm long. With central dark blue or purple centre. Fruit and Seeds: Wrinkled, dry, brown and slightly triangular. Ridged and hairless. Habitat: Gardens, parks, coastal scrub, rocky areas. Distinguishing Features: Very similar to several other African daisies (Dimorphotheca species) and there are many ornamental varieties.
