Leaves: Egg or oval-shaped and narrower at both ends, 1.5-7 cm long. Flowers: Small, trumpet shaped and opening up to 5 petals. White with a yellow throat, arranged along a long spike that curls around. Fruit and Seeds: Group of 4 nutlets each containing a single oval-shaped wrinkly, sometimes hairy seed. Habitat: Cropping areas, roadsides, disturbed areas, lawns, creek beds. Distinguishing Features: There are many similar looking Heliotropes (Heliotropium species), many of which are native, so expert advice is advisable.
