Stem: Fleshy, thick, branching or creeping, cylindrical, hairless. Leaves: Fleshy, thick, flat, shiny, smooth and oblong, elongated oblong or wedge-shaped. Up to 2.5 cm long. Flowers: Small, yellow, with 4-6 petals. Only occasional. Individual or in small clusters in the leaf forks. Fruit and Seeds: Spherical yellowish glossy capsule up to 8 mm across splitting open to release a single oval-shaped glossy black seed about 1 mm across. Habitat: This native plant inhabits a wide variety of environments including waste areas, roadsides, gardens, agricultural areas, grasslands, pastures.
