Leaves: Alternate up stems, hairless or hairy, consisting of 5-21 oblong leaflets 0.5-4 cm long. Flowers: Showy, bright pink to purple in groups 9-15 cm long. Typical pea flower shape with standard, wing-like and keel-like petals. Fruit and Seeds: Pods cylindrical or tapering, 2.5-4.5 cm long, hairy or hairless, with several spotty hairless seeds. Habitat: This native plant inhabits a wide range of environments, particularly woodlands and open forests in hilly areas.
