Family: Myrtaceae Scientific name: Eugenia uniflora Description: Plant Form: Shrub or small tree. Size: Up to 7 m tall. Stem: Often multi-stemmed. Spreading, slender, sometimes crooked. Leaves: Pink to bronze or dark red when young, maturing to shiny dark green above, paler underneath. Oval shaped or lance shaped narrowing to a rounded tip. Smooth or slightly wavy edges. Flowers: Whitish or creamy, with 4 petals with many stamens protruding outward. Fragrant. Fruit and Seeds: Fleshy, spherical berries 2-4 cm across which ripen from green to orange and then dark red.
