Often pigmented reddish and hairless. Leaves Initially deeply lobed in rosette, then unlobed alternating up stems and smaller. 2-12 mm long. Flowers Tightly compacted clusters of small yellow flowers at end of branched stems. Fruit and Seeds Dry, inflated and curved capsules, 5-9 mm long and with seeds in 2 rows. Habitat Wetlands, riparian areas, cropping areas. Distinguishing Features Distinguished from Creeping yellowcress (Rorippa sylvestris) by having smaller petals, being annual or biennial (rather than perennial) and lacking rhizomes.
