Family: Fabaceae Scientific name: Lupinus cosentinii Description: Plant Form: Erect annual herb. Size: Up to 1.2 m tall. Stem: Many branched, covered in whitish silky hairs. Leaves: Compound of 7-13 oblong or elongated leaflets radiating from same point like a fan. Both surfaces are hairy. Flowers: Blue typical pea-shaped flowers in large elongated cluster at the tip of branches. With a whitish keel (overlapping lower petals). Fruit and Seeds: Elongated pods 4-6 cm long, densely hairy, and containing 3-5 greyish seeds. Habitat: Disturbed areas, roadsides, parks, agricultural land, open woodlands, riparian areas. Distinguishing Features: Has generally larger, hairier, and more numerous leaflets than Narrow leaved lupin (Lupinus angustifolius).
